Walsall is located in the West Midlands, and has several different universities near by, the closest being the University of Wolverhampton (they have a campus in Walsall). With great transport links to Birmingham City centre by bus and train, finding student pads or houses in Walsall is very easy. The city itself is very cheap, has a nice student population due its close proximity with Birmingham, and loads of things to do day and night. You’ve got plenty of options each night to go out, WS1 is currently the biggest club in Walsall, with a student night every Thursday, its gets pretty jam packed, and with drinks for a quid, you can see why. There are several other bars that offer cheap drinks throughout the week, including the Wharf and Vogue. The local high street has all your usual shops, a fruit and veg market going 6-days a week, and West Bromwich and Birmingham being a 20 minute bus ride away in either direction. Walsall Arboretum is a cool place to check out during the summer months, ideal for group picnics or an outdoor study session. If you love your Indian food, several pub are scattered throughout the local area serving authentic Indian food, with specially flown in chefs from India. Many pubs are starting to extend the dining area they’re getting that busy! Walsall isn’t the biggest student district in the U.K, but being relatively close to Birmingham which has several universities, Walsall student accommodation is plentiful and it’s pretty easy to find something to suit you needs. The people are friendly, the town is very cheap, loads of supermarkets, parks and places to eat.
