New House Cottage built in the year of Queen VictoriaÂ’s Jubilee 1887 is situated in the small village of Dunkirk, neighbouring Boughton under Blean north of Canterbury, conveniently located to access the whole of the South East.
Locally in the villages there are local pubs serving great food, woodland walks, farm shops, Post Office, Churches and convenience stores. A short drive offers you either; the Medieval City of Canterbury with a wealth of history, shopping, restaurants and theatre, or Faversham one of the oldest market towns in the country where you can take a tour around Britain’s oldest Brewery. The coastal harbour of Whitstable 5 miles away offers world famous Whitstable native oysters, a pebble beach, many sea food restaurants and local specialist curio shops – always a great day out.
The cottage offers a combination of a quiet cosy retreat next to a traditional nursery just off the beaten track, or a great location to explore the surrounding area.

The accommodation consists of two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom upstairs;
The White room with a King size French four poster bed. Chrystal chandelier, sheepskin rugs, hand painted furniture and original paintings.
The Gold Room with a King-size Victorian gold bed. Chrystal chandelier, sheepskin rugs, hand painted furniture and original paintings.
Each of these rooms has a built in wardrobe, bed side tables and a chest of drawers.
The twin room has a matching pair of Georgian Mahogany beds. White chandelier, hand painted furniture and original paintings.
All bedroom mattresses are quality sprung with memory foam tops, each mattress has a mattress protector and all pillows have pillow protectors.
The large bathroom is fully tiled and has a corner Jacuzzi Bath, large corner shower unit, vanity sink looking over the back garden and wc. It has a stunning large crystal chandelier, ornate mirror, chrome and crystal fittings.
Downstairs;
Cosy sitting room with a log burner, library of books, board games and DVDs . The TV is a 24” flat screen with freeview and a built in DVD player. It has two beautiful chairs and a sofa, a footstool/coffee table.
Formal dining room with built-in cupboards either side of the chimney breast, large hand painted ornate dining table with six matching chairs, ornate gold mirror over mantelpiece and original paintings.
The kitchen continues the theme of the house, combining “Shabby Chic”, Antique and retro items with all the facilities of a modern kitchen. Stainless steel pots and pans, matching Le Creuset oven and serving dishes, large American style fridge/freezer and microwave - all in a room laid out so the cook can be joined at the kitchen table for a chat or a glass of wine whilst slaving away! Or, creating a quiet breakfast listening to the radio.
The breakfast area seats 6, with a round table and a combination of bench and regular seating. It has a window looking into the garden room and a small library of cook books.
The utility room is just off the kitchen and has a separate WC, a sink, a washing machine and a dishwasher. There are coat hooks and a drying rack fitted above the radiator.
The garden room has comfortable seating for six, a feature gas fire, 32” flat screen TV with freeview and a built-in DVD player. There is beautiful leather footstool/coffee table and sliding patio doors which open onto the garden.
The garden is walled and gated so therefore safe. It is mostly laid to lawn with established plants and shrubs. The garden has an original Victorian well which is fully functioning but has a cover so is secure. There is a garden table and chairs for six, perfect for “alfresco” dining.

THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE GARAGE But plenty of space on the drive for two cars and free on street parking.

Utilities are not included unless otherwise agreed, an all inclusive package could be arranged - Council tax is £165 per month, and will be added to the rent.
