First things first, the Hyde Park we are talking about here is the area in the inner-city of NW LEEDS…. If you were considering a move to uni to be situated in a park full of concerts and demonstrations in London , your bad.
Situated between the University of Leeds and Headingly, Hyde Park has one of the largest student populations in Leeds. Once home to Ricky Wilson during his time here as a student (he’s the lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs just in case you’re not down with the kids) this area is as diverse in its range of student accommodation as it is in its culture.

Hyde park is thought to be the more traditional region of student accommodation but as well as its quaint back to back terraces, there is also bags of purpose built contemporary student halls flats and houses.

When here its only right you should visit the famous Hyde Park Picture House which is one of the oldest of its kind in the UK and bursting with both blockbusters and character. It is also a great place to experience something just a little bit different such as a visit to the real life escape game Tick Tock Unlock and galleries and museums galore such as The Royal Armouries with more weaponry than you could ever learn about sat in your Hyde park student accommodation playing COD.
Hyde Park has a fantastic bus route to take you out and about and in to Leeds to enjoy the clubs bars an pubs of one of the UKs hotspots for nightlife but there’s no need to travel by bus to uni as many campuses are just a coin throw away.
Living and studying in Hyde Park
The student accommodation in Hyde Park is idea for students attending Leeds Metropolitan University or the University of Leeds campus nearby but as mentioned, with transport links as good as they are there is no reason why you couldn’t go with your perfect pad here and travel with ease to Leeds Trinity or one of the many colleges.
Hyde Park is very student centred and although there are rumours student house prices are slightly higher here its codswallop in our opinion as we have something for every budget. Additionally if you’re after saving a few extra pennies this student- focused location always has something on offer such as the free 5k weekly times run Leeds Parkrun, saving you money on that gym membership!
