Universities have their own halls of residence that are generally set aside, primarily for first year students, but university policies differ, so make sure you check. Halls tend to be a cost effective option for most students and will generally include all of your bills.
London accommodation for students on a budget
If you have £150 or less a week as your budget for student accommodation in London, your best option will probably be to go for a house or flat share.
Our best tip for students studying in London is to consider living a little further out – but not too far! Ideally, you want to keep your commute to University under about half an hour – anything more and the temptation to skip classes on days when you might only be in for an hour or two will be far too tempting! Living further out and commuting into central London means that your budget will stretch that bit further, but don't forget to take into account the additional funds you'll need to spend on travel.
